Now we finally have our first, full look at Carrie following that teaser from a few months back (before Carrie was bumped back to October 18th) and it definitely delivers. Although it shares more than a fair share visual content with Brian De Palma’s version (although that could be attributed to King’s original text), such as the same orange and black Challenger and Carrie’s home looking near identical, it still delivers on the rest of the good stuff. This trailer may verge on giving to much away (you see the showers, the prom, the blood, and the aftermath) but that shouldn’t be a problem with a story as well known as this.
I couldn’t completely tell how much of the prom scene was CG, but the prominent kill in the trailer was. That’s pretty tame. I guess no one’s losing their hearing for the remake. But despite all of my personal problems with it, I’m still intrigued as hell. Moretz and Moore seem absolutely great so far, so consider me pumped. And if the film has a well acted story and central cast, the rest of that stuff won’t matter.
