Morgan Spurlock (The Greatest Movie Ever Sold), Joss Whedon (The Avengers), Harry Knowles of Ain’t It Cool News, and Marvel visionary, Stan Lee, have collaborated together to create a documentary focused on the madness and experience that is the San Diego Comic-Con. Entitled Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope, the documentary gives a behind-the-scenes look at SDCC and features talking segments by the likes of Kevin Smith and Seth Rogen. It also appears to follow some sort of narrative as it focuses on three different SDCC attendees: The Collector (a toy collector), The Geek (an aspiring artist/fanboy), and The Designer (a cosplayer/fashion designer).
To commemorate the documentary’s release, tour dates and cities have been announced for special screenings, which also include such convention events, like exhibitor booths, cosplayers, portfolio reviews, and panels.
