I loved Will Ferrell in Stranger than Fiction, playing a fairly unlikely straight man. He really came into his own as a crapped-on sad sack. He seems to be trying to recapture that magic, albeit in a less “quirky” manner, in Everything Must Go. It looks like your average “Hey, look at this sad dude finding himself through XYZ special activity!” And when I say “average,” I mean, “mediocre.”
Eh, could be surprising. You never know. I’m still holding out for a Hannukah-themed Elf sequel. If Jon Favreau reads this, I just did him a favor by giving him the next billion dollar idea.
