Blue is the Warmest Color is a French romantic drama directed by Abdellatif Kechiche, and it’s been making quite an impression on the indie and film festival crowds. The film follows a young girl named Adele, played by Adèle Exarchopoulos, through her joyous and devastating relationship with another woman named Emma, played by Léa Seydoux.
This trailer is interesting because though there is music and sounds, there is no dialogue or voice over. No words are spoken in the trailer at all, and while I’m not sure that decision allows the depth of the story to be conveyed, I like choice because it reminds me of the unspoken communications between lovers. Blue is the Warmest Color will open for limited release on October 25th.
