Other than sporting some fantastic salt and pepper facial hair, Nicholas Cage delivers a surprisingly dramatic and dark performance in the trailer for his upcoming film, Joe.
Joe tells the story of Joe Ransom, an ex-convict, who befriends a troubled, teenage drifter in small-town Texas. Cage, whose most memorable roles often contain heaping spoonfuls of ham, plays lead character Joe with intensity and restraint. Joe is also a departure from previous work for director David Gordon Green, whose most recent films include Pineapple Express and Your Highness.
Joe made the festival circuit in 2013. American release dates have not been confirmed.
