Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness ought to be a title which conjures images that are impossible to live up to, yet somehow this trailer for Netflix’s latest dive into true crime creates a Ren and Stimpy-style bizarro spectacle I couldn’t have imagined myself.
I mean, a man with thousands of wild cats who loves guns, explosions, polygamy, and making country music? A person like that certainly couldn’t exist in flesh and bone, and yet here I am coming face-to-face with Joe Exotic for the first time, and I feel a door has been opened to a higher realm of existence.
Mixing big cats, drug kingpins, conmen, and cult leaders, Tiger King seeks to unravel Joe Exotic as he faces off against animal rights activist Carole Baskin, going so far as to plot to have her murdered. This all looks like some warped episode of South Park come to life, and I can’t look away.
You won’t be able to look away, either, when Tiger King prowls onto Netflix on March 20, 2020.
