Trailer: Good Neighbors

That Jay Baruchel boy sure is adorable, what with the stammering and the hipster Woody Allen charm and the riding of the dragons. I’m sure his next film will be just as adora- wait a minute, what the heck is going on here?

Apple
has a trailer up for the Canadian thriller Good Neighbors and apparently our lovable tyke grew a beard, and as we all know, beards mean trouble. Baruchel stars alongside Scott Speedman and Emily Hampshire as neighbors who are convinced that one of them are responsible for a string of murders in their neighborhood. The description is as follows:

Neighbors Spencer (Scott Speedman) and Louise (Emily Hampshire) have bonded over their fascination with a recent string of murders terrorizing their community. When a new tenant named Victor (Jay Baruchel) arrives in the building, all three quickly hit it off. But as they soon discover, each of them has their own dark secret. As the violence outside mounts, the city retreats indoors for safety. But the more time these three spend together in their apartment building, the clearer it becomes that what they once thought of as a safe haven is as dangerous as any outside terrors they could imagine.

Really kind of disappointed at the use of trailer voice and the fact that they let the “wheelchair guy can actually walk” twist out of the bag in this trailer, but I must say that despite being a VOD release (June 24th), it actually looks kind of interesting. Maybe I’m just excited that despite it being a Canadian film, they managed not to spell it Good Neighbours. Those silly Canucks sure do love their U’s, eh? Make sure to fawn over Baruchel’s bitchin’ beard and watch the trailer here.
