Trailer: Hotel Transylvania

There are two words that describe why I’m going to see Hotel Transylvania regardless of any poor trailers or poor buzz on the streets: Genndy Tartakovsky. If you were a child of the mid-to-late nineties, you remember him as the creator and director of Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, the non-CG Star Wars: Clone Wars, and a one-time potential director of the perpetually delayed Power of the Dark Crystal.

Hotel Transylvania marks Tartakovsky’s first feature-length film, so I’m going to see it. From this trailer, there’s a certain amount of potential, even if the whole “famous monsters under one roof for XYZ reasons” isn’t exactly the freshest story on the block. Tartakovsky’s got a good sense for animated humor and action, so I’m putting my trust in this flick.
