By Well, here is the first trailer for Andrew Niccol’s In Time… and boy does it look sharp. It’s got all the ear-markings of a sleek, sci-fi/action film and there looks to have quite a bit of intelligent writing to it as well. Soon Justin Timberlake’s name will be synonymous with “action star” and there’s not a damn thing anyone can do about it, because like it or not, this looks awesome. Timberlake co-stars with Amanda Seyfried, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer, Johnny Galecki, Cillian Murphy and Olivia Wilde.
In case you need more enticement to watch the trailer, here’s the story: It takes place in a world where everyone is given a certain amount of time to live and has their own “ticking clock” mechanism that keeps them alive. Timberlake’s character tries to find ways to get more time, but soon finds he’s got more time than he bargained for…
Andrew Niccol has yet to disappoint me, having both written and directed Gattaca and Lord of War, the man clearly knows his stuff. He’s great at chronicling a society as well as getting to the heart of the main character in any movie he has a hand in. That’s why I can’t freaking wait for this film to come out on October 28 (and not next year like every promising film seems to be doing now, WTF).
