After director Joss Whedon’s mega block-buster The Avengers last year, he decided to tone it down a bit for his next project. It’s a bit of a palate cleanser – Much Ado About Nothing is an adaption of the classic Shakespearean comedy by the same name. The film takes place in modern day but with Shakespeare’s original text as dialogue, and it was also shot in only black and white, giving it all a noir-esque sense.
The film was made in only twelve days in Joss Whedon’s own home during The Avenger‘s post-production period. Much Ado About Nothing premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival to rave reviews (can this man do no wrong!?) and will release in theaters June 7th 2013.
