I’m a huge fan of the original Red Dawn. It’s probably the best piece of 80s action movie/anti-Commie propaganda you can find. Also, Emilio Estevez shoots people in the face a lot. Remember that guy?
This remake, which famously saw its villains digitally changed from Chinese to North Korean, has sat on the shelves at MGM for two years now, thanks to MGM’s financial difficulties, but it’s finally releasing this Thanksgiving. It doesn’t look like it’ll capture the schlocky charm of the original, but maybe it’ll still be a fun time!
