Red Tails is a film producer George Lucas has had under his hat since the late eighties. It’s safe to say he got pre-occupied with being the richest filmmaker ever ever ever, too much so to actually make the film, until now. It’s based on the infamous pilot group known as Tuskegee Airmen, the first African American aviator unit in the United States Air Force. It’s basically a thriller story, dogfighting and ending racial descrimination, and all, but the movie looks fairly hollow, really. It could have something to do with the fact that it’s a forties movie that seems shot almost entirely on green screen. At least Captain America had some outdoor shots.
