Here’s a new trailer for Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch hitting theaters March 25, 2011. Lots and lots of things are happening in it. Most importantly, we’ve got a bit more of the actual plot, which revolves around an institutionalized young girl using an alternate reality as a means of escape, both figuratively and literally. Also, there’s Scott Glenn playing the role of “Crap, David Carradine Died Before We Could Make This Movie.†Plus, the trailer makes fairly effective use of one of my favorite Zeppelin songs, so points for that.
On the one hand, I’ve yet to be truly impressed by anything Zack Snyder has done. I have a great deal of contempt for the man, frankly. On the other, this is his first truly original story, and it has a samurai robot with a minigun.
