The first footage of Mel Gibson elbow-deep in furry beaver has emerged. As first reported by our own Xander Markham, the Jodie Foster-directed movie was hit with a minor setback due to certain shenanigans brought up by Gibson’s loony antics. However, with the release of the trailer, it seems as if the movie is back on track.
At first glance, it seems like an indie-esque movie attempting to cash in on the quirkiness of using a hand puppet. Honestly, it feels very forced and gimmicky, like a poor man’s Lars and the Real Girl. I am, however, glad to see Anton Yelchin playing a supporting role. I feel like he has talent that hasn’t been utilized enough.
