The Croods is the next planned in Dreamworks’s really, really well planned out (and packed!) future film slate. Grug (Nicolas Cage) is a father who wants to keep his family safe by staying put in their cave, while Eep (Emma Stone) wants to explore the outside world. After a natural disaster separates the family from their home, they venture out into the world together.
I really wasn’t expecting much out of The Croods, but Grug’s opening dialogue made me chuckle a bit. It might be due to Cage’s presence, but there’s something crazy yet endearing about a father who wants to take care of his family. I guess we’ll see when how this all works when The Croods is released sometime next year.
