By Get ready for one of those trailers that gives away almost the entire movie. Of course when you’re dealing with what looks like one of the heaviest doses of melodrama ever delivered as we seem to be with upcoming indie dramedy The Music Never Died, giving away the entire thing isn’t really that big a deal. It’s the emotional roller coaster it takes you on, right?
I can’t really tell if The Music Never Died, a film about a father and son reuniting over classic rock, is going to be one of those films that “hits you right here” or one of those movies that makes you vomit all over the floor it’s so sappy. Its cast is absolutely stellar, however and the words on it coming out of Sundance haven’t been all bad. Plus, I’ll pretty much sit through anything to hear J.K. Simmons speak. The man has one of the coolest voices in the business.
