Trailer: White House Down

Here’s the first trailer for the latest White House destroying film White House Down (not to be confused with other White House destroying media such as Olympus Has Fallen, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Independence Day, First Kid, Superman II, Futurama, Read or Die…you get the point) which shares more than it should with Olympus. However, Down is starting off on a better foot choosing to emphasize news reports rather than its actual plot and star, Channing Tatum. 

Unfortunately when all of the hoopla fades away, we’re left with goofiness. This could work, I guess. Tatum has far more “everyman action hero” potential than Gerard Butler, so we may get a surprise out of this. But…I’m a little concerned about the poster. Tatum is way too sexy to venture into “uncanny valley” territory.
