I’ve enjoyed the three films directed by Bobcat Goldthwait that I’ve seen — World’s Greatest Dad, God Bless America, and Shakes the Clown. One day I’ll get to his movie about bestiality, Sleeping Dogs Lie, which will no doubt be a great second date movie.
Goldthwait’s new film is a found footage bigfoot movie called Willow Creek. While I’m okay with the bigfoot part, I’m a little miffed it’s a found footage movie. When it’s not done right, found footage winds up being aggravating. Maybe Goldthwait can make it work somehow. Devin Faraci over at Badass Digest says that this trailer focuses on the traditional found footage elements of the movie, but Goldthwait adds his own unique take on it. Fingers crossed.
There is no release date for Willow Creek yet, but it will be screening at the Fantasia Film Festival up in Montreal next month. (Wish I was going there, but will be here in NYC with Alec tag-teaming the coverage of the New York Asian Film Festival and Japan Cuts.)
