Uncharted film gets charted, sticks to gaming roots

The Uncharted film adaptation has been in limbo since it was first announced and rumors were swirling around about a family dynamic for the script. Then there was talk of “Marky” Mark Wahlberg taking on the mantle of PS3 gamers’ (and arguably superior) version of Indiana Jones. Of course, all of those rumors were laid to rest the moment ex-director David O. Russell left the project. Recently, Limitless director, Neil Burger, signed on as the next director for Uncharted.

With a new director comes a new screenplay. Crave Online released an excerpt of their interview with Burger, confirming the direction of the script sticking closer to the game’s roots. Furthermore, the film doesn’t have a lead attached just yet. Burger writes, “Where we are right now is that we’re literally starting from scratch on the screenplay, and I think that once we finish it, then we’ll go to actors and see who’s available and who’s right for the parts.” Nathan Fillion fans, get your brown coats on and set your fingers to petition.
