The film adaptation of the Uncharted game series has had a tumultuous history. Losing writers and directors left and right, it finally looked like everything was on track to get the movie finished for next year. According to Deadline, that may not be happening as intended. It looks like director Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) is out and Sony is scrambling to find a replacement.
Not intent to sit around and wait, meetings are reportedly underway to quickly find a replacement for Trachtenberg. With any luck, Sony will have found a new helmer by the end of the summer and production will commence early next year. Tom Holland is still attached to star as a young Nathan Drake (star of the series) with Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Rafe Judkins scripting.
