UPDATE: EW has a new batch of images which include our first real look at the Scarlet Witch/Quicksilver pair. But if Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen are anything like they were in Godzilla weeeeeeeeelllllllll – Nick Valdez
Since SDCC is about to hit us like a bag full of comic book shaped bricks it’s about time we finally saw something from Avengers: Age of Ultron that wasn’t a blurry image taken from some guy climbing a tower to get a shot of shooting. That something is this EW cover, which gives us the first true look at the film’s version of Ultron. Also, you can see Iron Man and Captain America getting in the way of us seeing Ultron.
Along with the cover comes a few plot details. It appears Stark will invent Ultron so that the Avengers can take a bit of a break, but things don’t go so well.
[via EW]Ultron (played by James Spader through performance-capture technology) lacks the human touch, and his superior intellect quickly determines that life on Earth would go a lot smoother if he just got rid of Public Enemy No. 1: Human beings. “Ultron sees the big picture and he goes, ‘Okay, we need radical change, which will be violent and appalling, in order to make everything better’; he’s not just going ‘Muhaha, soon I’ll rule!’” Whedon says, rubbing his hands together. “He’s on a mission,” the filmmaker adds, and smiles thinly. “He wants to save us.”
