NYC: Support the Rooftop Films Kickstarter campaign

0

If you live in New York City and love independent films, chances are you’ve been to a Rooftop Films event. A registered non-profit group founded in 1997, Rooftop Films holds outdoors screenings of movies through the city in all boroughs: Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Harlem, The Bronx, and Staten Island.

Now that Rooftop Films is turning 20, they’re turning to Kickstarter to help fund screenings, special filmmaker and artist programs, job training, and apprenticeships for the coming year. The crowdfunding campaign ends on December 31st. They’ve got a ways to go to hit their goal, there’s a lot that can happen between now and the end of 2016.

Incentives for funding the Rooftop Films Kickstarter include a limited edition High Maintenance backpack, a Moonlight poster signed by the cast and director Barry Jenkins, DVDs and Blu-rays of critically acclaimed indie films such as The Fits and Krisha, limited edition prints, discounted tickets to special screenings, and more.
