There are few directors that continue to excite me as much as Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. From his mysterious debut Intacto to the vastly under-appreciated 28 Weeks Later, Fresnadillo has a knack for world-building with a momentum and artistry that few directors have.
I had problems with his latest film, Intruders, but his direction wasn’t one of them. During SXSW, I was given the opportunity to sit down with Fresnadillo and discuss his latest project and why it appealed to him.
