A few weeks ago, we told you about how the French band Air was partnering with the Technicolor Foundation for Cinema Heritage to release a brand new score to coincide with the recently restored, hand-painted, color version of George Melies’ classic cinema piece — A Trip to the Moon.
Earlier today, NPR released this new clip from the collaboration of the Parade Scene. It’s really, really cool. I love how janky all the hand-painted colors are, and the score is nothing short of phenomenal. I’m kind of desperate to watch the entire 16 minute piece with Air’s score. As of yet, the band is planning to release the score as an album in February of 2012, but there are no signs of being able to purchase the entire package – score and color version – together yet.
