Almost everyone ever seems to be calling Drive one of the best movies of the year. I cannot wait to see it! Thanks to all the hype the movie’s building, director Nicolas Winding Refn is riding fairly high. After he completes work on Only God Forgives, he’s set to direct a remake/re-adaptation of Logan’s Run, also starring Ryan Gosling. Evidently, Refn has had an idea for an Wonder Woman movie for some years, and he dropped this little tidbit at a Q&A at Empire’s Big Screen convention: “I would love to make Wonder Woman. And I also think that Christina Hendricks would be the perfect Wonder Woman, but Warner Bros haven’t called yet. But I’m getting closer with Logan’s Run. I think someone said to me in a meeting that if I get Logan’s Run right, then I’ll get Wonder Woman.”
Now, I wouldn’t call that concrete news of confirmation that Refn is doing a Wonder Woman movie, but it’s still interesting stuff. It’s pretty much a “gee, wouldn’t it be nice?” kind of thing. I’d like to hold out hope, though. Bronson, which Refn also directed, was amazing, everyone says Drive is amazing, and Christina Hendricks in the Wonder Woman outfit would basically make my junk explode. So, Nicolas, tell me who you want me to go behead so you can make this movie, and I’ll get choppin’.
