I liked the original Wanted. It may bear no resemblance to the comic it got its name from, and it may suffer from lots of stupidity, but it has exploding mice. Lots of them. How could a movie with lots of exploding mice ever be bad? Trick question: the answer is if it’s a documentary.
Anyways, the movie’s got a sequel coming, and director Timur Bekmambetov, whose most recent film is the entirely self-explanatory Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, says that it is going to be “shocking.” Wanted 2: Electric Boogaloo will continue the story of Wesley Gibson, but considering everybody died in the first movie, it’s hard to tell what comes next. Chances are, though, I couldn’t guess it right even if I tried. Why not? Because it’s got a “great twist.” I don’t have any idea what that means, but here’s my guess:
The exploded mice come back from beyond and start blowing up important things, and Wesley has to make them blow up less important things by putting them on bullets and curving them. Then Andy Dwyer shows up and gets more teeth knocked out. The end.
If that’s not what happens, that’s definitely better than what happens, and Bekmambetov should hire me to rewrite the screenplay. I can guarantee I will charge less than the guy who’s doing it now.
