Netflix is putting out everything these days, from Bill Nye talks shows to Mythbusters build team shows to Christopher Guest mockumentaries about sports mascots. Now they’ve acquired the brand new, critically acclaimed Werner Herzog documentary that premiered at the Telluride Film Festival over the weekend.

Titled Into the Inferno, the film offers a tour of active international volcanoes with Herzog and volcanologist Clive Oppenheimer as guides. The documentary includes stops in North Korea, Ethipoia, Iceland, and the Vanuatu Archipelago, the last of which I really want to hear Herzog say aloud. (Ditto the word “volcanoes”. It’ll probably sound like vull-kay-NOWZ.) The film will delve into the volcanoes themselves while also exploring the cultural significance of these volcanoes in their respective countries.

Into the Inferno will play at the Toronto International Film Festival later this month. It hits Netflix on October 28th.
