By We haven’t heard too much information yet about what will be shown at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France, but now we know what’s going to be opening it: Wes Anderson’s upcoming movie Moonrise Kingdom! This isn’t too much of a surprise, considering the movie’s star-studded cast (Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, Tilda Swinton) and the fact that Wes Anderson has never showed a movie at the festival before.
We also just saw the new poster for Moonrise Kingdom yesterday, and I’ll just say that everything about this movie looks thoroughly Anderson. Which is a great thing in my book. The Cannes Film Festival and Moonrise Kingdom open May 16th in France, and Moonrise opens May 25th in the United States.
