Vulture reports what is possibly the most WTF story of the day. Indie darling Debra Granik, director of Winter’s Bone and Down to the Bone, told reporters that she is co-writing a treatment for a new Pippi Longstocking feature.
In a really cool article by the LA Times, Granik calls the character “the original tomboyâ€. Reading further, it seems like she has a fresh approach on the classic character. Only time will tell if her approach works though. I was never a big fan of Pippi, but some of you out there might have been. What do you Pippi super-fans think? All…two of you?
