We already knew the next Wolverine sequel is going to be Hugh Jackman’s final performance as the titular Wolverine, but it appears it may also feature Patrick Stewart’s last take on Charles Xavier, as well.
During an interview with ITV, Stewart told the reporter:
I can’t say because I don’t know, but I would imagine this is probably the end of this franchise for me. But the thing about science fiction and fantasy is that you can never, ever say it’s the end, it’s over.
While Jackman became the face of the X-Men film franchise over the past decade and a half, Stewart also became synonymous with Professor X, even when the character was dual cast during the latest trilogy with James McAvoy portraying the younger, follicled Xavier.
All good things must eventually come to an end,
