X-Men: Days of Future Past is a ‘First Class’ sequel

See what I did there? I’m hilarious. Seriously though, in a recent interview with IGN, Bryan Singer confirmed the long rumored subtitle of his sequel to the surprisingly impressive X-Men: First Class. In case you didn’t know, Days of Future Past was an awesome alternative timeline-storyline in which mutants are pretty much extinct, Wolverine is an old man, and there are tons of Sentinels running around.

Singer also toyed with the possibility of crossovers from the previous films in the franchise as it “is every bit as big as the Marvel universe and [Singer] think[s] it’s time to reach out and explore it and perhaps even bring some connectivity.”

Given the major continuity issues First Class has with the previous X-Men films, maybe a time traveling storyline might not be that great of an idea. But if the film does tie the now six films in the franchise closer together, it can really only be a good thing. For more of IGN’s interview with Singer, check it out below.
