Did you watch the awesome Avengers flick thinking, “If it’s such a massive invasion, why isn’t Wolverine tearing some stuff up?” then you may like this idea. In an interview with Crave Online, Lauren Shuler Donner, one of the producers of X-Men (since the very first one) gave her opinion on a possible crossover:
I would love it. I would love it. I personally have close ties to Marvel because of Kevin Feige, because Kevin worked for me. But to take our characters and mingle them in the way that they were written, yeah, absolutely.
Assuming Shuler Donner is a big a fan of the properties as the rest of the world is, I’m sure we’ll see all the properties mingling together one day. Not anytime soon, no way. Marvel’s set in their Phase Two and Three plans and Fox has Days of Future Past to worry about. But as I’m certain that since everyone likes money (and seeing The Avengers doing well helped on that front), Marvel and Fox are guided under two brilliant minds, and that everyone likes money (it counts twice) they’ll get along one day (even if the companies can’t get along now). All we can do now is wait and dream about what kind of story these two behemoth franchises would concoct together.
Might I suggest the Avengers vs. X-Men comic miniseries? It’s one of the most amazing things I’ve read in awhile. The clash of philosophies, the stupidity of it all, and the pure joy one can get from seeing Captain America punch Cyclops in his smug face would be amazing in live action. It’s my Make-A-Wish, Marvel and Fox…so get on it.
