Zack Snyder unveils black and white trailer for his Justice League cut

Zack Snyder's Justice League in black and white

Whether warranted or not, the ongoing fascination with Zack Snyder’s Justice League continues. Today, Zack Snyder shared a black and white version of the Justice League trailer on his Twitter account, which you can watch yourself below.

It’s basically the previous Snyder Cut trailer, but in black and white, which means it’s serious. (The use of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” is a nod to its howlingly bad appearance in Snyder’s 2009 adaptation of Watchmen.) David Fincher may have Mank, but Zack Snyder has Batmank, Supermank, Wonder Womank, and Aquamank. Apparently Martian Mankhunter is supposed to appear as well.

HBO Max announced the Snyder Cut back in May, and I’ve been intrigued and amused by the whole endeavor. I am glad that Snyder is getting to realize his vision after dealing with a terrible personal tragedy, and giving any creator space to finish work is commendable. It’s also good that the Snyder Cut has given actor Ray Fischer a chance to publicly air his grievances about Joss Whedon’s messy, uneven Justice League. I’m not so crazy about Jared Leto reprising his role as The Joker, and I’m doubtful I’ll enjoy this four-hour epic of earnest adolescent power fantasy. But I’ll watch this transfixed and amused.

Just hoping the entire thing is not in black and white.
