By According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zoe Saldana is in talks to play Gamora for James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, the make or break Phase Two Marvel film. Although most of the time a report like this means Saldana’s clinched the part, negotiation could always fall through. If she does decide to join the film, that’s another big name for Marvel (joining Chris Pratt’s Star Lord and Dave Bautista’s Drax).
Gamora is a badass assassin/fighter who’s the last of her green skinned race. Saldana seems like a perfect fit for the role. She’s proven to handle action well enough with Colombiana, she’s no stranger to science fiction (Star Trek Into Darkness), and she knows a thing or two about playing weird colored skinned aliens (Avatar). What do you all think of the casting for GOTG so far? Would you have made any different choices? I’d change a few itty bitty things.
