Remember that Godzilla movie that Warner Bros. And Legendary Pictures are teaming up to do? Well know it is finally in production with director Gareth Edward (Monsters). Ken Watanabe (Inception, Letters from Iwo Jima) has just joined the cast of the film. He will be apart of a cast that includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, and Bryan Cranson.
After showing a small snip it at Comic-Con, it appears that the film will be taking a more realistic approach to the legendary giant lizard. While a realistic approach could be interesting, I can agree that hopefully the realistic aspect to the film will be limited to the human characters and all the destruction around them. I want an awesome, radioactive breath spewing Godzilla already!
Besides the point, we don’t much or anything at all about the general plot for the film. Maybe it will just be a modern update to the old Godzilla films and not the pitiful attempt at westernizing Godzilla like Roland Emmerich did back in the late 90s.
Godzilla is expected to open on theaters on May 16, 2014.
